Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Women's health bacteriophage product is an investigational bacteriophage therapy being developed by Intralytix, Inc. to target bacterial pathogens associated with women's health infections, specifically bacterial vaginosis and pregnancy-associated infections. The therapy utilizes a cocktail of naturally occurring, lytic bacteriophages that selectively infect and kill pathogenic bacteria while preserving the beneficial commensal bacteria of the vaginal microbiome. In July 2019, Intralytix announced a collaboration with Ferring Pharmaceuticals and the Eliava Foundation to develop bacteriophage-based products for women's reproductive health.
