WX-UK1 + capecitabine is an investigational combination therapy studied primarily for advanced malignancies. WX-UK1 is a 3-amidinophenylalanine-based small molecule inhibitor of serine proteases, specifically targeting the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) system, which plays a key role in tumor invasion and metastasis. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), widely used as chemotherapy for various cancers including colon and breast cancer. The combination has been evaluated in phase I clinical trials to assess safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in patients with advanced solid tumors.
