Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiao'er Zhixiao Pingchuan Granules (小儿止哮平喘颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pediatric formulation used primarily for the relief of cough, asthma-like symptoms, and phlegm in children. It is typically composed of multiple herbal ingredients designed to clear heat from the lungs, resolve phlegm, relieve cough, and ease breathing difficulties. The granule form allows for easy administration in pediatric populations. Its mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—clearing lung heat, transforming phlegm, relieving cough and asthma—rather than targeting specific molecular pathways as with Western pharmaceuticals. The product is widely used in China for conditions such as pediatric bronchitis and mild forms of childhood asthma or wheezing disorders.
