Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiao-Feng-San + Qing-Shang-Fang-Feng-Tang is an investigational botanical combination therapy developed by Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for the treatment of chronic urticaria. This therapeutic approach involves a fixed mixture of two traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulas: Xiao-Feng-San (XFS) and Qing-Shang-Fang-Feng-Tang (QSFFT). In clinical studies, it is evaluated as an adjuvant therapy to the antihistamine levocetirizine. The mechanism of action involves anti-allergic, anti-oxidative, and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as the modulation of the Th1/Th2 immune balance. The treatment is administered orally in capsule form and has reached Phase III clinical trials in Taiwan.
