Xiaozhong Zhitong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Gansu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a multi-herb compound, typically prepared as a tincture or mixture, containing 21 herbal ingredients including *Fibraurea recisa*, *Asari radix et rhizome*, *Aucklandiae radix*, *Gardenia jasminoides*, and *Acanthopanacis cortex*, supplemented with camphor and l-menthol. It is primarily indicated for traumatic injuries, rheumatic osteodynia, and osteoarthritis. In clinical research, it has been studied for its safety and efficacy in the perioperative management of patients undergoing knee joint replacement for osteoarthritis, often in combination with other agents like tranexamic acid.
