Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xuefu Zhuyu Capsules and Sheng Mai Capsules are two distinct traditional Chinese patent medicines (TCPMs) frequently used in combination or compared in clinical settings for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions, particularly unstable angina pectoris following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Xuefu Zhuyu Capsule is derived from a classical Qing dynasty formula and is composed of 11 herbs, including rehmannia root, peach seed, and safflower; it is primarily indicated for resolving blood stasis and promoting blood circulation. Sheng Mai Capsule is a traditional formulation used to tonify Qi and nourish Yin, typically containing Panax ginseng, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Schisandra chinensis. In clinical practice, the combination is used to address the dual TCM syndromes of Qi deficiency and blood stasis, aiming to improve clinical symptoms, reduce inflammatory markers, and lower blood-stasis syndrome scores in patients with coronary heart disease.
