Overview
Rhinitease XI is a combination small molecule nasal spray containing xylometazoline hydrochloride and ipratropium bromide, developed by Shayana Farm. Xylometazoline is a sympathomimetic agent that acts as an agonist at alpha-adrenergic receptors, leading to vasoconstriction of the nasal blood vessels and reduction of mucosal edema. Ipratropium bromide is a quaternary ammonium anticholinergic that antagonizes muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, thereby inhibiting nasal secretions and reducing rhinorrhea. This dual-action formulation is indicated for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion and runny nose associated with the common cold and allergic rhinitis. It is administered as a metered nasal spray.
