Overview
Yanlixiao is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) oral therapy developed by Jilin Province Oriental Pharmaceutical for the treatment of acute inflammatory conditions. The formulation consists of an extract from the herb *Laggera pterodonta* (known in TCM as Liulengju), which is rich in bioactive sesquiterpenes and flavonoids. It is clinically indicated for a wide range of infections and inflammations, including acute tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, gastroenteritis, and mastitis. The drug functions by clearing heat and detoxifying, providing both anti-inflammatory and antibacterial therapeutic benefits. It is currently approved and marketed in China and is listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
