Overview
The yellow fever vaccine (live, lyophilized) from the M.P. Chumakov Institute is a live attenuated vaccine containing the 17D-213 substrain of the yellow fever virus. It is prepared in embryonated chicken eggs and formulated as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for reconstitution. As one of only four WHO-prequalified yellow fever vaccines globally (certified since 2009), it is a critical component of international immunization programs, including UNICEF's Eliminating Yellow Fever Epidemics (EYE) Strategy, supporting vaccination in over 50 countries. The vaccine works by inducing long-term protective immunity through the production of neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses against the yellow fever virus.
