Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YH4808 + diclofenac is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents. YH4808 is a novel potassium‐competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed for the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease. It works by inhibiting gastric acid secretion through competitive blockade of the potassium-binding site on the gastric H+/K+-ATPase, resulting in sustained elevation of intragastric pH[6][8]. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate pain and inflammation associated with conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and migraines. Diclofenac acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation[1][5]. The combination may be considered in clinical settings where NSAID-induced gastrointestinal side effects are a concern.
