Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yi-Fei San-Jie pill (YFSJ) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation that has been used in China for decades to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is frequently employed as an adjunctive treatment to enhance the efficacy of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors like gefitinib. The therapeutic mechanism of YFSJ involves the promotion of apoptosis and autophagy, as well as the inhibition of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer cells. Specifically, it has been shown to suppress the EGFR/p-p38 MAPK/GSK3β signaling axis, thereby reducing cell migration, invasion, and tumor growth while potentially overcoming gefitinib resistance.
