Overview
YIC (Yike) is a therapeutic hepatitis B vaccine developed by Fudan University and Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products. It consists of a yeast-derived hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) complexed with human anti-HBs immunoglobulin (HBIG) in a specific ratio, formulated with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant. The vaccine is designed to treat chronic hepatitis B (CHB) by breaking the immune tolerance characteristic of the disease. The mechanism involves the uptake of HBsAg-HBIG immunocomplexes by dendritic cells via Fc gamma receptors (FcγR), which enhances antigen presentation and stimulates HBsAg-specific T-cell responses, aiming to clear the virus in patients with chronic infection.
