Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yihuo + Jin Bifid is a combination probiotic therapy consisting of two distinct products: Yihuo (containing *Clostridium butyricum*) and Jin Bifid (also known as Gold Bifidum, containing *Bifidobacterium longum*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, and *Enterococcus faecalis*). This combination is being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial led by Sun Yat-sen University for the prevention and treatment of diarrhea in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer receiving small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) such as pyrotinib or neratinib. The mechanism involves the restoration of gut microbiota diversity and the stabilization of the intestinal mucosal barrier, which are typically compromised by TKI-induced toxicity. By replenishing beneficial bacteria and producing short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, the therapy aims to improve patient quality of life and treatment compliance.
