Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yuekangtong is a standardized pharmaceutical-grade Ginkgo biloba extract injection developed and manufactured by Yuekang Pharmaceutical Group, with significant clinical research conducted by Beijing Tongren Hospital. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute primary subjective tinnitus, vertigo, and various cerebrovascular and peripheral vascular disorders. The extract is composed of active flavonoid glycosides and terpene lactones, including ginkgolides and bilobalide. Its mechanism of action is multi-faceted, involving the antagonism of platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptors to improve blood rheology and microcirculation, the scavenging of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to reduce oxidative stress, and the protection of mitochondrial function in neural tissues. In China, it is a widely utilized therapy for sensory organ dysfunctions and cognitive impairment associated with vascular insufficiency.
