Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zabadinostat + geptanolimab is a combination therapy being investigated for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in patients who have become resistant to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Zabadinostat is a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor that functions as a small molecule immuno-modulator designed to enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and destroy cancer cells. It works by modulating the expression of tumor antigens on cancer cells, making them more visible to the immune system. Geptanolimab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) that targets the programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) receptor. The combination is being studied in a randomized Phase 2 clinical trial conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
