Overview

JLP-2302 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) drug candidate developed by Onconic Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Jeil Pharmaceutical, for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The product combines zastaprazan (JP-1366), a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), with sodium bicarbonate, an antacid. This combination is designed to provide a rapid onset of action by utilizing sodium bicarbonate to quickly neutralize existing gastric acid, while zastaprazan provides sustained acid suppression by reversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase pump in the gastric parietal cells. JLP-2302 is intended to compete in the fast-growing P-CAB market, specifically targeting the need for immediate symptom relief in patients with acid-related disorders. It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to establish its pharmacokinetic profile and safety compared to zastaprazan monotherapy.
