Overview

**ZFN-603 + ZFN-758** is a combination of two zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs) designed to target and cleave the E7 oncogene DNA of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18, respectively. Laboratory studies have shown that these agents induce significant cleavage of HPV16 and HPV18 E7 DNA in infected cells, leading to downregulation of E7 expression, restoration of tumor suppressor gene retinoblastoma 1 (RB1), apoptosis, and growth inhibition in HPV-positive cell lines. The intended therapeutic effect is to block the progression of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) caused by persistent HPV16 or HPV18 infection[2][8][5].
