Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhang's Xibi formula (ZSXBF) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. It is composed of six herbal ingredients: *Angelica sinensis* (Dang-gui), *Cyathula officinalis* (Chuan-niuxi), *Lycopus lucidus* (Ze-lan), *Phellodendron chinense* (Huang-bo), *Smilax glabra* (Tu-fuling), and *Panax japonicus* (Mao-rensheng). Primarily used for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, ZSXBF is traditionally recognized for its heat-clearing and detoxifying properties. Clinical evidence suggests it effectively reduces pain and improves the quality of life in patients. Network pharmacology studies indicate that its mechanism of action involves the modulation of multiple signaling pathways and proteins associated with inflammation and cellular stress, including Estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1), AKT1, NF-kappaB (p65), TP53, and various Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK1, MAPK3, MAPK14).
