Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zhongtong'an is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation available in capsule form. It is primarily used for the management of pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as gingivitis, pericoronitis (inflammation around the crown of a tooth), toothache, sore throat, mouth ulcers, and arthralgia due to wind-phlegm and blood stasis resistance. Clinical studies have shown its efficacy in improving symptoms related to oral inflammatory diseases and in combination with other drugs (such as rivaroxaban) for improving hypercoagulable states after knee arthroplasty[1][2][3]. The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles involving anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects through modulation of local circulation and reduction of swelling.
