zimberelimab + platinum-based chemotherapy

zimberelimab + platinum-based chemotherapy is a combination regimen comprising zimberelimab, a fully human anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody, and a platinum-based chemotherapy agent (such as cisplatin or carboplatin, generally combined with pemetrexed or paclitaxel). Zimberelimab functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor, blocking the PD-1 receptor on T cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. Platinum-based chemotherapies act as DNA-damaging agents, inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. This combination has been investigated primarily in first-line treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and is in trials for other solid tumors such as cervical cancer. The regimen is not currently approved as a fixed combination but is used in investigational settings.
