Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZT002 + metformin + warfarin refers to the co-administration of zovaglutide (ZT002), metformin, and warfarin within a clinical trial setting. **Zovaglutide** is a novel, ultra long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) developed by Beijing QL Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is a peptide biologic designed for once-monthly or biweekly subcutaneous administration. **Metformin** is a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent that primarily acts by activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis. **Warfarin** is a vitamin K antagonist anticoagulant that inhibits the vitamin K epoxide reductase complex. This specific combination was evaluated in a Phase 1, open-label, two-period crossover drug-drug interaction (DDI) study to assess the impact of multiple subcutaneous injections of zovaglutide on the pharmacokinetics of metformin and warfarin (acting as probe substrates) in overweight and obese participants.
