RN7SL140P is a pseudogene derived from the 7SL RNA gene family, which encodes the RNA component of the signal recognition particle (SRP), involved in protein targeting to the endoplasmic reticulum[1][4][3]. As a pseudogene, RN7SL140P is a nonfunctional, truncated genomic sequence representing a copy of the functional 7SL RNA gene.
