ACTE1P is adjacent to the DHCR7 gene, and genetic variant rs12803256 in ACTE1P has been strongly associated with serum vitamin D levels, possibly due to a regulatory effect on DHCR7 expression. Its biological or pathological function remains unclear, and no drugs target ACTE1P directly.
