Ankyrin repeat domain 20 family member A18, pseudogene (ANKRD20A18P), also known as C21orf126, is an annotated human pseudogene located on chromosome 21 (21:15,436,646-15,441,408, GRCh37)[3][5][6][8]. It does not appear to encode a functional protein, as it is categorized as an "unprocessed pseudogene" and has no protein-coding transcript[1][3][8]. Although typically regarded as non-functional genomic elements, some pseudogenes have been shown to act as regulatory RNAs (such as miRNA sponges or sources of siRNAs) that influence the expression of protein-coding genes[2][4]. However, there is no evidence that ANKRD20A18P is directly involved in such regulatory pathways or in disease processes. It is not considered a therapeutic target, and there are no approved drugs or investigational compounds that interact with this pseudogene.
