Bacterial metabolic pathways such as autotrophy (oxidation of inorganic compounds) and the Entner-Doudoroff pathway are unique to bacteria and not found in eukaryotes. Autotrophy enables bacteria to utilize inorganic molecules for energy and carbon fixation. The Entner-Doudoroff pathway is an alternative sugar catabolic route present in some bacteria.
