Cadherin-6 Overview

Cadherin-6 (CDH6) is a calcium-dependent cell adhesion protein that belongs to the cadherin superfamily. It mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion and plays critical roles in tissue morphogenesis and differentiation, particularly in the kidney where it inhibits tubulogenesis. Dysregulation of CDH6 has been linked to diseases such as cancer and craniofacial-deafness-hand syndrome.
