Cathepsin G-derived peptide–HLA-A*02:01 complex

Molecular classification
MHC Class I–peptide complex, Immune complex, Tumor-associated antigen complex
01

Overview

The Cathepsin G peptide–HLA-A*02:01 complex is an immune target formed by the presentation of a peptide derived from cathepsin G, a protease found in myeloid cells, by the human leukocyte antigen HLA-A*02:01 on the cell surface. This complex acts as a tumor-associated antigen in certain cancers, notably acute myeloid leukemia, where the presence of cathepsin G-derived peptides enables recognition by CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Structurally, peptides from cathepsin G bind with high affinity to HLA-A*02:01, resulting in stable peptide-MHC complexes that can elicit potent immune responses[2][4]. Targeting this complex is a strategy in immunotherapy for HLA-A*02:01–positive cancer patients.
