Overview

CDIP transferase opposite strand, pseudogene (CDIPTOSP), also known as CDIPT-AS1 and several other aliases, is classified as a human long non-coding RNA pseudogene. Unlike protein-coding genes or validated lncRNAs with clear biological functions, CDIPTOSP has not been shown to express a protein product or serve as a direct therapeutic target. Some evidence of disease association exists, including connections to hepatocellular carcinoma and brain germinoma, but the mechanistic basis of these associations remains uncharacterized. As with most pseudogenes, CDIPTOSP may have regulatory or epigenetic roles that are largely unexplored. There are no known drugs that interact with this gene, no direct molecular mechanism of action, and it is not an established biomarker or source of safety concern in therapeutic development.
