Target intelligence / Profile preview
Cell tracking involves the use of specialized molecules (tracers) to monitor the movement, localization, proliferation, and fate of cells within a population or organism over time. These tracers can be fluorescent dyes, radioactive labels (radiotracers), or other molecular tags that allow for visualization and quantification. It is a class of compounds, not a single target.
Tracers are introduced into cells and emit a detectable signal (fluorescence/radioactivity) that allows researchers to follow individual cells or populations over time. Different tracers have different mechanisms of entering cells and different signal properties.
