Chromodomain protein, Y-linked 7 pseudogene (CDY7P) is a gene locus in the human genome that is classified as a pseudogene. It is related to the chromodomain Y-linked (CDY) gene family, whose functional members are involved in chromatin organization and spermatogenesis. Pseudogenes like CDY7P do not encode functional proteins and are generally considered non-coding genetic relics, though they can have indirect roles in post-transcriptional regulation in some cases. There is no evidence that CDY7P is involved in any physiological process, disease, or is a therapeutic target. It should not be confused with functional chromodomain Y-linked proteins or their family members.
