Overview

Coagulation factor VII (activated), or FVIIa, is a serine protease that initiates blood coagulation by forming a complex with tissue factor (TF). This complex activates factors IX and X, leading to thrombin generation and fibrin clot formation. Recombinant human FVIIa (rFVIIa) is used therapeutically to treat bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia and other clotting disorders.
