Overview

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus antigens encompass viral proteins recognized by the host immune system during infection, notably the glycoproteins (GP38, Gn, Gc) embedded in the viral envelope and the nucleocapsid protein (N). The glycoproteins facilitate viral entry and membrane fusion, with Gc serving as the primary target for neutralizing antibodies. GP38 is a secreted glycoprotein with demonstrated immunogenicity and protective antibody responses in animal models. The nucleocapsid protein is responsible for encapsidating the viral RNA and is a commonly detected antigen in diagnostic assays.
