Cyclic AMP-inhibited 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase 3A (PDE3A) is an enzyme that hydrolyzes both cAMP and cGMP, regulating their intracellular levels. It plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including cardiac contractility, platelet function, and oocyte maturation. Mutations in PDE3A are associated with hypertension, and pharmacological inhibitors are used in the treatment of heart failure and platelet disorders, albeit with safety concerns.
