Cystatin 13, pseudogene (CST13P), also known as CTES6, CSTT, and cystatin T, is a pseudogene from the cystatin superfamily in humans[7][8]. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble functional genes but are generally noncoding and not translated into active proteins. CST13P is not classified as a functional protein, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and there is no evidence it serves as a direct therapeutic target, is involved in disease mechanisms, or has validated roles in biological pathways[7][8]. While some pseudogenes have regulatory functions, there is no available information supporting an active functional, clinical, or therapeutic role for CST13P.
