Cytochrome P450 family 2 subfamily C member 61, pseudogene (CYP2C61P), is classified as a pseudogene within the cytochrome P450 gene family in humans. Unlike functional cytochrome P450 enzymes, CYP2C61P does not code for an active protein and has no direct enzymatic or signaling role in metabolism. While most pseudogenes are biologically inactive, a minority can exert regulatory effects via RNA transcripts, but there is no evidence for such activity for CYP2C61P.
