Overview

Cytochrome P450 family 2 subfamily F member 2, pseudogene (CYP2F2P) is a non-protein coding pseudogene belonging to the cytochrome P450 gene family. While the cytochrome P450 superfamily includes many active enzymes involved in drug metabolism, toxin breakdown, and biosynthetic processes, CYP2F2P itself does not encode a functional protein, lacks enzymatic activity, and is not considered a therapeutic target[1][5][9]. Its sequence is related to other cytochrome P450 genes, such as CYP2F2 (mouse) and CYP2F1 (human), which are active enzymes, but CYP2F2P contains mutations or truncations rendering it inactive. No therapeutic roles, drug interactions, or biomarker utility are established for CYP2F2P.
