CYP2T1P (Cytochrome P450 family 2 subfamily T member 1, pseudogene) is a human pseudogene belonging to the cytochrome P450 superfamily. Unlike functional cytochrome P450 enzymes, pseudogenes such as CYP2T1P do not encode active proteins and generally lack catalytic activity involved in drug metabolism or other biochemical processes. Pseudogenes are typically generated by gene duplication or retrotransposition followed by disabling mutations, and they may retain sequence similarity to their parental genes but are transcriptionally or translationally inactive. There is currently no evidence for a specific biological function, disease relevance, drug interaction, or therapeutic application for CYP2T1P, and it is not considered a therapeutic target.
