Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 24, pseudogene (CYP4F24P) is a human genomic locus classified as a pseudogene. It is an inactive, non-protein-coding remnant of a cytochrome P450 family gene. Pseudogenes like CYP4F24P do not produce functional proteins but may have roles in genome evolution or regulate related genes at the RNA level. No functional activity, disease association, or druggability is known for CYP4F24P specifically, although pseudogenes in general can be components of post-transcriptional gene regulatory networks[3][4][5][7][8]. Pseudogene status means it is not a working enzyme, receptor, transporter, or direct drug target. Shares sequence similarity with cytochrome P450 enzymes, but mutations prevent it from producing a functional protein[7][9]. No clinical, pharmacological, or biomarker utility has been described for CYP4F24P in current knowledge.
