Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 29, pseudogene (CYP4F29P), is a human pseudogene that is related by sequence similarity to the cytochrome P450 (CYP) superfamily, specifically the family 4, subfamily F proteins[1]. Unlike canonical CYP genes, CYP4F29P does not encode a functional protein due to mutations or disruptions in its coding sequence that render it nonfunctional. As a pseudogene, it lacks known biological or enzymatic activity and is neither considered a drug target nor implicated in disease. Despite sharing sequence homology with the functional enzymes responsible for fatty acid metabolism and drug/xenobiotic oxidation in the cytochrome P450 family[3], CYP4F29P itself is biologically inert and has no known clinical or pharmacological relevance[1].
