Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 59, pseudogene (CYP4F59P)

Target
CYP4F59P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Cytochrome P450 family (nonfunctional)
01

Overview

Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 59, pseudogene (CYP4F59P), is a human genomic locus classified as a pseudogene. Although closely related to the cytochrome P450 superfamily, which encodes enzymes involved in xenobiotic metabolism and fatty acid oxidation, CYP4F59P does not produce a functional protein due to disabling mutations. There is no evidence that it encodes a receptor, enzyme, or transporter, nor has it been associated with any therapeutic targeting, drug interaction, or disease mechanism. Its alternate designation CYP4F-se14[6:8] is used in some annotations. There are currently no known biomarkers, drug interactions, or disease links associated with this pseudogene[1][3][5][7][9][11].
