Overview

Cytochrome P450 family 4 subfamily F member 60, pseudogene (CYP4F60P), is a nonfunctional DNA segment derived from the cytochrome P450 family of enzymes. CYP4F60P does not encode a functional protein and thus does not participate in xenobiotic metabolism, cellular processes, or serve as a target of pharmacological intervention. Like other pseudogenes, it is a remnant of gene duplication events and may occasionally have minor roles at the RNA level, such as acting as a regulatory RNA in rare contexts, but no such function has been established or validated for CYP4F60P[2][4][5][9].
