Decaprenylphosphoryl-beta-D-ribose 2'-oxidase (DprE1) is an essential flavoenzyme in Mycobacterium tuberculosis involved in the biosynthesis of decaprenyl-phospho-arabinose (DPA), a precursor for cell wall components lipoarabinomannan and arabinogalactan. DprE1 catalyzes the FAD-dependent oxidation of decaprenyl-phospho-ribose (DPR) to decaprenyl-phospho-2'-keto-D-arabinose (DPX), a key intermediate in DPA synthesis. It is a validated drug target for tuberculosis.
