Detoxified Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin LTh(αK) is a genetically or chemically detoxified form of the heat-labile enterotoxin (LT) from *Escherichia coli* used as an immunomodulatory agent. It acts as a strong mucosal adjuvant, enhancing antigen-specific IgA responses and modulating dendritic cell maturation, promoting Th2-to-Th1 balance shift, and suppressing excessive inflammatory responses. It has potential for mucosal vaccine adjuvants, allergy immunotherapy, and asthma treatment.
