Overview

Platinum-DNA adducts are covalent complexes formed between DNA and platinum-based anticancer drugs. These adducts, primarily intrastrand cross-links at guanine bases, distort the DNA helix, interfering with replication and transcription. The formation of these adducts leads to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. Resistance can develop through enhanced DNA repair or reduced drug uptake.
