ETV5 antisense RNA 1 (ETV5-AS1) is a human long noncoding RNA gene transcribed antisense to the ETV5 gene on chromosome 3. Its sequence and genomic localization are annotated, but specific biological function remains undetermined for ETV5-AS1. By analogy to other antisense RNAs, it may modulate the transcription of ETV5 or other neighboring genes, influence chromatin structure, and affect gene regulation in a cis or trans-acting manner. There are currently no drugs or disease roles specifically attributed to ETV5-AS1; it appears as a molecular entity of interest within noncoding RNA research, particularly in epigenetics and transcriptional regulation[1][2][3][8][9][10][11].
