Overview

Filaggrin antisense RNA 1 (FLG-AS1), also referenced as AL589986.2 and LINC02962, is a long non-coding RNA found in the non-protein coding portion of the genome[1]. It has been shown to promote keratinocyte proliferation and appears linked to the risk of inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis through specific genetic polymorphisms[1]. While some aliases and database entries ambiguously associate this lncRNA or similar transcripts with cancer, there is no direct, standardized evidence supporting its function as a "DHX9 suppressive transcript" or specific relevance to cervical cancer under the names CCDST or lnc-CCDST. Its roles in cancer are unelucidated at this time, with the best-studied biological function being in skin cell proliferation regulation[1].
