Target intelligence / Profile preview
FSHD region gene 1 family member D, pseudogene (FRG1DP) is a non-protein-coding genetic sequence related to the FRG1 gene family. Pseudogenes like FRG1DP typically arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and generally lack biological function, although some pseudogenes can have non-coding RNA roles or regulatory effects in rare contexts. Unlike the protein-coding FRG1 gene, which is involved in muscle development and associated with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, FRG1DP is not known to produce a functional protein or participate directly in pathogenic mechanisms[1][2].
None known. Pseudogenes are not known to be targeted therapeutically.
