Target intelligence / Profile preview
FSHD region gene 2 family member D, pseudogene (FRG2DP) is a transcribed, unprocessed pseudogene located on human chromosome 16. It belongs to the FSHD region gene 2 family, but unlike functional members, it does not encode an active protein and has no established functional role in cells. Pseudogenes such as FRG2DP may arise from duplication or retrotransposition events in evolution but do not generally participate in regular biological processes, molecular signaling, or disease mechanisms. FRG2DP is cataloged primarily for genomic annotation and is not relevant to targeted molecular therapeutics or biomarker research.
