Gametogenetin binding protein 1 (pseudogene) (GGNBP1)

Gametogenetin binding protein 1 (GGNBP1) in humans refers to a gene classified as a unitary pseudogene. While it is an ortholog of the functional gametogenetin-binding protein 1 gene found in other mammals, the human GGNBP1 gene is non-functional owing to a nonsense mutation that truncates its open reading frame after only 8 amino acids.
