Overview

Glucosaminyl (N-acetyl) transferase 1, core 2 pseudogene (ENSG00000216359) is a human pseudogene. It is a non-coding genomic sequence closely related to the functional genes GCNT1 and GCNT2, which encode glycosyltransferase enzymes essential for glycan branching and cell surface glycoprotein modification. Unlike its parent genes, this pseudogene does not produce an active protein and is not considered a drug target. Pseudogenes can sometimes have regulatory effects on their parent genes, but there is no direct evidence for any functional or disease role for this specific pseudogene[3][1].
